“I guess it’s not too bad,” Alex said after the third episode ended. I’d rugged up under a blanket he’d provided once the sun had started to set, munching away on my fifth cookie, not caring about my waistline.

If I didn’t fit into the casket or grave dug for me, then so be it. I’d make things harder if I could. Although I was going to need a hell of a lot more cookies.

“What’s going on here?”

I turned to see Paxton standing near the kitchen island, shocked to find me nestled on the couch while Alex had his legs up on the coffee table.

“Watching Teen Wolf,” Alex stated like it was obvious.

“Right,” Paxton said slowly before he focused on me. “This is for you.”

I caught the tossed box, smiling at the hair dye he’d gotten.

“And I bought wine, figured that was a good idea too,” he said as he set the bottles on the counter.

“That sounds like a bad idea,” Alex smirked. We’d chatted a little between episodes, but that was about it.

“If I’m going back to being held by a vampire or dying, I would like to be drunk,” I stated as I rose. “But first, do you mind if I stick this dye in? I need an old shirt or towel or something, I don’t want to wreck your shirt,” I said as I glanced down at Alex’s tee I wore.

“It’s fine, I’ll buy another,” Alex stated.

“Okay, well, I’ll need to do this in the bathroom, that okay?” I checked, and he just shrugged.

“You can do that. I’ll hear if you try anything.”

Right, cause that wasn’t creepy at all.

I nodded as I headed off, hearing Paxton quietly questioning him on whether or not this was a good idea. I could only assume he meant letting me out to roam.

What could I possibly do? I wasn’t going to be able to escape the pair. But maybe I could win them over, try to make them care for me and maybe spare me. That was a thought now. Alex seemed to be going somewhat soft on me, although I knew not to trust it.

Paxton though… I had more chance winning him over. He seemed the softest of the three of them.

I got to work dying my hair, taking what little comfort I could in knowing I’d look like myself a little more soon enough. That I had some semblance of control in this situation. Sure, I’d needed permission and help, but at least it was something. And the cookies had certainly given me a dopamine hit I was in dire need of.

I stared at my reflection as I massaged the dye into my hair, praying for a way out of all of this. I wanted someone to come rescue me, whisk me away from all this madness or wake me up from the nightmare.

But I was shit out of luck there, and I knew it. No one even knew I was missing, all those who’d loved me and cared for me thought I’d gone on an adventure overseas and dropped contact.
